Celebrate in style the sights and sounds of an imagined steam-powered past with music by Feral Conservatives and Uglyography, sleight of hand by William the Conjuror, feats of strength from PM Richard Knowles, belly dancing from Seven Cities Dance Studio, and other exotic amusements. Beer and wine is available for purchase from La Bodega Hampton.

Experience the fantastical conveyances, contraptions, and other artifacts from an alternative Victorian era and Wild West frontier, and witness the spectacle of Splendid Teapot Racing during the Blackbeard Pirate Festival.

Throughout the weekend, be dazzled by the work of a variety of Steampunk artists highlighted by the inventions of Alexander the Grand (Alexander Phillip Baker), creator and leader of the Steampunk Alliance of Eastern Virginia, including a Steampunk Tardis based the time and dimensional travel device on the popular BBC program “Dr. Who,” a Steampunk version R2D2 from Star Wars, as well as other fanciful contraptions, conveyances and devices.

Additional Steampunk creators include Charlie Stayton, writer for Tephra - Steampunk Tabletop RPG and Steampunk wings maker; Travis I. Sivart, Author of Steampunk books and short stories; A Steampunked Life, makers of Steampunk watches and accessories; and Kristine Grenda Pruitt, maker of fine Steampunk jewelry.

The Hampton History Museum is located at 120 Old Hampton Lane in Downtown Hampton. There is free parking in the garage across the street. For more information call 757-727-1610.
